1. CSR Background
At Ludada and Associates Orthopaedic Services (LAOS), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is embedded in our purpose of providing equitable access to quality, affordable, and sustainable rehabilitation solutions. In line with United Nation Rules on equalisation of opportunities for people living with disabilities, we believe that mobility is a fundamental human right and that every person, regardless of their socioeconomic status should have access to. In order to have the opportunity to live an independent, productive, and dignified life.
However, according to World Health Organization only 1 in 10 in need have access to appropriate assistive devices across globe, and this ratio could be worse among developing nations. Therefore, as a Sub-Sahara company, we operate within a context where access to assistive technology remains unequal. Many individuals living with disabilities, particularly those in underserved communities, continue to face barriers to receiving appropriate assistive devices and rehabilitation services. Through our CSR initiatives, we work to reduce these inequalities while contributing to sustainable development, environmental responsibility, innovation, and capacity building.
Our commitment extends beyond delivering products and services. We strive to create lasting social impact by improving access to rehabilitation, promoting environmental sustainability, advancing research and innovation, and developing future rehabilitation professionals.
